are you stupid?
Dumbing down Digg a notch? Don't find the trendy diggs by looking at the "most popular" ones? Is that too difficult for people?

Yeah.. nice work man. I check out Digg everyday.. It's great to find out you're behind the scenes!?
I don't get it. She wants you to wire her money for a plane ticket but doesn't want to meet you? huh? |

The most high-growth strain of political thinking at the current time is that government is doing too much and overstepping its bounds. Right now, Republicans are offering a more restrained stance in relation to government activity, even if they are a very imperfect party on core liberty issues. The reason the GOP is seeing success is that more independent and liberty-minded folks are beginning to see the big government doctrine of the Democrat party as a problem and they are really doing little, at the leadership level, to reach out to those who desire limitations on government power and scope.I predict this trend will continue.

Once again, I think they should make bar owners print that information on their beer list, and if it's not easily available to them, change that as well. Outlawing high-alcohol beers is a terrible way to try and solve this problem.I didn't reiterate non00b's point, since I thought he made it just fine. But since you haven't addressed it and are still talking about pints of barleywine, let me say that there is absolutely no good reason to serve this kind of beer in pints. I would be perfectly content if it were illegal to serve >10% ABV beer on tap by the pint. This would improve the experience for consumers as well as curbing excess. Bars that wanted to serve such beer would probably have to buy some new glassware, but I don't really care.

I'm (West) German, and I can remember the fall of the wall. I was like 13 at the time, and I heard on TV that the border was open, and that every East German was getting 100 DM "welcome money" from the government at the post office. Before long, a bunch of Easties rocked up on my street. Parked their smoke belching Trabant in the bus stop (which is illegal), went in the post office, claimed their money, and came out and stormed the supermarket. They came out loaded with Western consumer goods... steaks, beers, cartons of cigarettes. Yum, cigarettes. I was flat out and had 3.60 DM. A pack costs 4 DM. Went up to the Easties and said "Hey, I'm broke and I'm trying to get some smokes together. If I give you these 3.60 DM would you be kind enough to let me have some off the carton you just bought?""Neeeeee", they said, got into their smoking plastic car, and puttered away, leaving me to wonder whether that just was our tax money they spent in there. Never liked the ***** since. |
