A couple reasons:Mostly to demonstrate that these things really aren't as dangerous as they look, and that many people's extreme fears of them is rather irrational.Somewhat because it's kinda exciting (somewhat like riding a roller coaster or bungee jumping or motorcycle riding or hang gliding or base jumping; with a similar degree of dangerousness).

“Better question. Who needs a Real Estate Appraiser in East Arkansas? Does he need to know the depreciation on a Chevy up on blocks and a moldy couch on the lawn?
Within the past few years, Microsoft has gone from Hotmail to Live to Bing. Luckily, they're not changing anything with their mail services, but I'm not sure why they switched names other than the fact that you can't "Live" something like you can "Bing" or "Google." I guess the point I'm getting at is that Microsoft's inability to stay committed to something for a long time with their web projects kinda' strays me away from using their services. The search engine is decent, though, and it's neat how you can just keep scrolling through images on the results page. But who knows what Bing will be called in a few years.Plus, the logo irritates me. As a friend pointed out awhile go, it seems like the font was stretched horizontally so it looks unnatural to me.
