“No, because I shouldn't have to pay for stupid ***** that the vendor puts on a device that is not manufactured by them.Let's not forget that retail stores do make money off of mark up, hence the whole reason they make a profit and exist in the first place. It's not like they're giving things away for free or far below cost and then recouping the cost by adding "revenue creating" software and features that impede the general functionality of the device.

True neutron7, but radio is a whole other side to this. There are a couple ways I could see radio going in the next few years. One possibility would be the mass adoption of of very small music players capable of holding thousands of songs, which we are already seeing, replacing the use of the radio while people drive and work. This might cause radio to become a news/sports medium only before too long. Another possibility that I expect to happen regardless of anything else is the big labels will try and squeeze more money for the "rights" to promote a bands music over the air waves. This could cause radio stations to turn to other sources of music that would be willing to trade free promotion for the free use of their music. Any way that this all shakes out, the closed system will come to an end and the labels will lose the ability to shove the latest version of nickleback or Brittney spears down our throats..
diguptruth77, how does it feel to be destroyed in an argument by someone who says "ur"?!

"Democracy" is irrelevant in a discussion about equality. Equal rights should never be something that you only get if the majority decides you're allowed. This isn't about whether or not you want casinos in your state or legalized marijuana, this is about all citizens being treated equally... the "people" don't get to have a say in that, the fact that this has gotten on ANY ballot is embarrassing.?
I believe that would be the tongue. |

So long as it doesn't hurt anyone, I say people can do whatever they want behind closed doors.

The results of having two sides compromise and work together have been very prosperous times for our country. We've seen what a "real conservative" government can do when it doesn't compromise, and it's not pretty. There are more reasons that liberals are mad at conservatives than differing philosophies, the years 2002-2006 were very, *very* bad times for our country, and I would argue that during that time the "real conservatives" you adore were in charge. Now that there is a Democratic majority and a progressive swing to the sentiments of the people your never compromise "real conservatives" are obstructing anything that could be called progress by our country. We've seen the results of not compromising and it has only done us harm.
