“To me, Whale Wars could be something interesting -- harassing and interfering with whalers and whatnot. Not that I've been interested enough to actually tune in.What perplexes me to no end, however, is the massive glut of fishing shows. Not the "fishing shows" how they used to be -- a couple of dudes in a rowboat on a lake (Which was equally perplexing, but anyway.) -- but following deep-sea commercial fishers. Seems to me like the whole thing could have been covered by a Dirty Jobs segment. But now we have /several/ whole series devoted to this. Who the hell cares??

A still more glorious dawn awaits us, not a sun-rise, but a galaxy-rise, a morning filled with 400 billion stars; the rising of the milky-way.

It was the "NextStep" OS, developed by Steve Jobs' Next Computer. I think it dates back to 1986-7. |
